“Understanding why people suffer, how they change, and how to help them live satisfying lives is a fascinating and important undertaking.” ~

MEET TALESHALA:

During the last five years, Taleshala has been working in a variety of mental health agency settings. This position required her to transfer skills to children, adolescents, and adults to help them reach their goals, be successful, or keep them safe. She understands that it takes guts and courage to seek help, and she wants to create a space where the individual feels safe and accepted. Her clients describe her as committed, non-judgmental, empowered, and hopeful.

Taleshala was inspired by many of her Social Work Professors, as well as Dr. Foels in undergrad Global Wellbeing. She mostly utilizes a strength-based model and empowerment perspective when engaging with clients. These modalities are used when working with people that struggle with mental health conditions or require processing certain life events. Taleshala also makes use of CBT interventions and behavior-focused therapy, and with that, she adds a touch of social work flare. For her, it’s important to inspire clients through their resilience and reinforce the fact that they aren’t alone on this journey.
